As if taking off to live in Haiti or the Dominican Republic for a few months wasn’t dreamy enough (gotta love the warm weather, palm trees and fresh fruit … am I right?) there are also some incredible vacation spots that you will need to check out — including Samana.
Wondering how to get around a new country that’s your home for the next semester? Not a worry. There are tons of ways to see your city … you can even take Uber and Lyft in these ILP countries.

The Dominican Republic is home to some of the cutest kids around and you get to teach them! During your semester in the DR with International Language Programs (ILP) you will grow to love the kids you serve and you will find that they are each unique and hilarious.
So you’ll probably need to leave your piano at home (sorry) but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring your guitar, ukulele, saxophone, violin, etc. while you live abroad! We’ve talked to alumni who have done just that to give you a little more info about bringing along an instrument when you travel.
