ILP Adventure

What if you were living in Thailand and then what if someone thought you looked like a movie star and asked you to do a photoshoot a major magazine? Would you do it?

Nicole was volunteering to teach children English in Thailand with ILP when this exact thing happened to her. After teaching for only a week she was already standing out. Her little Thai kids loved her fun and loving personality.

Looking Famous!

It turned out that one of those adoring Thai student's parents owned a pretty well known magazine, Touch of Thai. They kept commenting on how Nicole looked JUST like a famous singer in Thailand. Of course he wanted to feature her in his magazine. So she said yes! (To answer that hypothetical question at the beginning, you should always answer "yes" if you're asked to be featured as a movie star in a famous Thai magazine).

Time For The Photoshoot

Nicole went to the photoshoot not totally knowing what to expect, but then again, do you ever really know what to expect when you're living in a foreign country? It's kinda one of the best parts.

Her local ILP coordinator went with her to help translate and then the fun began. Nicole was dressed up in full Thai style from head to toe. A famous makeup artist did a complete makeover on her. This is quite the production, let me tell you.

Then came the posing. Pose this way, turn your head that way, smile more, smile less. This ILP volunteer got the full experience as a room full of Thai people were fussing over her.

Um, just look that at spread and front page feature. Such a cool memory. Who can say they've been on the cover of a Thai magazine? Nicole can!
